I am a freelance translator of the language pairs English to Tagalog and English to Ilocano. I currently live in the Philippines and use my mother tongues, Tagalog and Ilocano, on a daily basis. I am also fluent in written and spoken English and use it on a daily basis in formal communications as well as email. I have extensive experience in the translation/localization of contracts, agreements, HMO brochures, letters, research questionnaires, and academic documents. I have moderate experience in the localization of technical documents such as those related to product information, i.e., mobile phones. My mother tongues are rich in vocabulary, where a single word may be used differently in different contexts. Translating word by word may lead to a different meaning. That is why I normally translate based on the contextual meaning of the source sentence. This way, the message is not lost in the translation.
