After a very fulfilling career in music and music education, I am transitioning to an online career. As I research all of the possibilities the one that stands out the most to me is translating/interpreting Spanish to English and English to Spanish. I have an undergraduate degree in Spanish and many years of experience in translating and interpreting. A vivid example is teaching Foundations of Music Education to university sophomores in Paraguay and having to translate readings on the spot because of lack of materials on the subject written in Spanish. I have translated three books from English to Spanish including a song collection. I have many friends from many different countries in Latin America and am aware of regionalisms, variations in vocabulary, and have strong criteria for choosing words which are understood by all. As a person, I am enthusiastic, dedicated, and multi-faceted. I enjoy working one-on-one with people and derive happiness from getting jobs done.
