I am a young professional working in an international non-profit in San Francisco. I am of Middle Eastern origins, but I traveled around a lot as the daughter of a diplomat. I have lived in Italy, Egypt, Syria, Libya and the United States, and was educated in the French system. I received a French baccalaureate upon the completion of High School, with the highest regional score in French language and literature, Italian, and Spanish. While working on my BA in French literature, I tutored French, Spanish, and ESL, and worked on both French and Arabic literature. As part of my job, I now translate grant proposals, write-ups, and reports from Arabic and French into English. As someone who has traveled extensively and who has had to adapt to different foreign environments, learning languages has not only been a passion, but also a method of survival. I bring to my work accuracy and dedication, as well as an inner knowledge of the language and a sensitivity to its particularities, paying special attention to the way concepts and ideas are transformed from one language and culture to another.
