Marina Pou is a translator and interpreter. She has been in the translation industry since 1981 when as a young graduate she joined a large translation and interpreting agency in Buenos Aires as junior translator. In 1986, she became a free-lance translator and interpreter, setting up her own business in Buenos Aires to provide translation and interpreting services to public and private sector organizations, including the coordination of large projects involving several languages. With her combination of translation and interpreting skills, she addresses the various fields of science and technology from the perspective of the direct contact with the source in interpreting assignments and from thorough research in translation projects. She has also been professor at El Salvador University for the Science and Technology Translation program, in Buenos Aires, during the period 1991-1997. She has been requested several times to conduct workshops and courses on topics relating to legal English translation and interpreting. She graduated as Sworn Translator in 1981 from the Catholic University of Argentina and as Conference Interpreter in 1984 from the University of El Salvador. She is member of AATI (Argentine Association of Translators and Interpreters) and CTPCBA (Association of Sworn Translators of Buenos Aires).
