My gift in language made it possible for me to have over five years' experience as a professional translator/interpreter/editor between English and Korean. My undergraduate and first graduate study in Russian Literature at Seoul National University, which is Korea's top educational institution in humanities in particular, and second graduate study in Comparative Literature at Dartmouth College in the U.S. honed my sensitivity to language and cultural contexts through intensive and extensive translating and writing training. As my education strengthened my expertise in bridging between different languages based on deeper understanding of their cultural contexts, I have been given unusual opportunities to work for numerous organizations such as Language Line Services, JHK Patent Law Firm, Korea Ministry of Science and Technology, Korea Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety, GM-Daewoo Auto & Technology, the BESETOHA (Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, and Hanoi University Alliance) camp, and Sejong Center for Performing Arts, which is one of the two biggest performing arts centers in Korea. I am excellent in meeting deadlines, which has enabled me to successfully survive from the translating/editing field and also from intensive education at Seoul National University and Dartmouth College. My demonstrated adaptability made me become a professional interpreter/translator/editor in a variety of fields from electric patent applications to corporate M&A agreements and to performance reviews.
