I have worked on freelance Greek to English translations since 1996. Some involved bids for government contracts, others were technical and medical texts. My Greek language abilities come from my 13 years of living overseas in the Greek-speaking world, using the language on a day-to-day basis, and formal training. My language abilities developed quickly in both everyday social, home settings and in my work where I spoke both in person and on the phone with individuals who knew no English. The best compliment I received about my Greek was from a Greek speaking lady who told me, as I conversed with her in both English and then Greek at a cocktail party: "Your English is very good." I have taught English, studied five languages, and linguistics. I am known for my thoroughness and reliability in my translations and formidable editing work!
