I am a professional linguist. I have graduated from Almaty State Linguistics University with a Masters' Degree in English in 1973 and received a Ph.D from Moscow State Moris Torez Linguistics University after defending a dissertation on English poetry of the 18-19th centuries in 1982. In 1982-1991 I was an Associate Professor of English at Kazakh Chemical-Technological University where I translated numerous scientific and technical texts covering such fields as mechanical, civil engineering, organic and inorganic chemistry, ecology, physics, petrology etc. Arrived in Seattle in 1991. I have been certified as a legal, medical and social work interpreter and translator and presently work as a staff Interpreter at University of Washington Medical Center and the various courts. I have been ATA (American Translator Association) certified. I have especially enjoyed working with various groups of Russian officials for the Foundation for Russian-Americal Economic Cooperation, North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission (under the auspicies of the UN), Gore-Chernomyrdin Commission, US Grain Commission, Washington state EPA, and many other projects and programs
