I am a native Russian speaker and have completed the secondary education in Moscow, with honors in Russian language and literature. Although multilingual, I work exclusively on Russian-to-English and English-to-Russian translations, in the interests of providing unquestionable quality. My primary specialization is legal translation: a direction which I’ve taken after working for three years as a corporate paralegal in a Boston corporate law firm, while enrolled at the Northeastern University. I am currently completing an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, wherein my particular interests are Kantian moral philosophy and metaphysics. (I am scheduled to graduate on August 31, 2006.) I take great interest in the theory and practice of literary translation, and have completed a thesis work on aspects of Russian-to-English translation in the humanities. I frequently travel to Moscow, where my family continues to live, and where I am often mistaken for a St. Petersburg expat. I had first begun to learn English at twelve, when I became the only private student of Dr. Maya Buch, the professor of English at the Moscow Institute of Aviation, and by extension, her only student who was not a Cosmonaut.
