I am a young translator who has been working in the field of translation for about a year. I graduated last March in the University for Foreigner of Siena, Bachelor Degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation-curriculum Translation for Tourism and Industry, with 110-110 cum laude. My thesis analyzed the different strategies to translate gastronomic realia, culture-specific things, in the Japanese anime (Japanese cartoons). After my graduation I passed the translation test(Standard and Professional level) for Mygengo, a crowdsourcing translation service, to translate from English to Italian. Since then, I have been translating texts of different typologies, e.g. Business, Technology, Tourism. I am doing the same thing for another website called Translia, translating from Spanish and English to Italian. I have a solid linguistic background, I learned English reading a lot and I also have a good Spanish level because I stayed in Spain for 9 months (Erasmus). I have a good base of knowledge about translation theories because I studied them at the University. Being a very avid reader and amateur writer, I pay a lot of attention to the written form, I can spot errors in written and spoken Italian very fast, I also worked as proofreader-reviser for Jourist Verlags GmbH, checking the Italian translation of ten city audio-guides.
