For the past three years I have been the editor at the nonprofit Tax Foundation in downtown Washington, D.C., transforming the accuracy and style of their publications and donor correspondence and vastly improving the delivery time of the written materials from the economists and analysts. I also have a side business of editing/copy editing/proofreading of nonfiction, fiction, document proposals, news releases, etc. Much of my work comes from freelance editing for Post Hill Press publishers out of New York City. All this follows a 30+-year career in journalism, mainly at USA TODAY. I am a native Washingtonian with a keen interest in politics, government, media and sports. I also hold a Master's degree in Public Affairs Journalism from The American University, where I taught journalism.
