Most of my editing experience has involved editing translated material and documents written by people for whom English is a second language. Although I have always been very conscious of the rhythm and flow of words, this experience has made me especially aware of how sentences sound. My goal when working with translators has always been to ensure that the finished product is not only accurate but sounds like “natural” English. When editing for native English speakers, this desire remains unchanged. Any editor can follow grammatical rules and double check your spelling and punctuation. I want your writing to be so fluent and smooth-flowing that your readers find themselves reading it out loud to themselves. My technical background enables me to easily understand and edit technical material. Yet, I also have experience editing creative writing, general interest articles, conversations, etc. In fact, in addition to technical research papers, I have edited short stories, translated newsletters, essays, annual reports, web content, business letters, advertising brochures, radio interview transcriptions, patent documents, financial reports, art history analyses, criminal suspect interrogations, legal contracts, medical records, computer manuals, etc. I work well with writers and have never missed a deadline.
