My editing abilities go beyond spotting and correcting spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. I can help you say what you're trying to say, by helping you put your ideas in a logical order that flows well, connect those ideas with effective transitions, discard the ideas that aren't related, choose strong words to express your ideas, leave out words that aren't needed for your message, and write in a consistent style, voice, and tone. My goal will always be to help you say what you're trying to say in the most effective way possible. Your finished product will be strong and correct. My first editing job, in 1986, was to edit the college catalog for the University of Central Florida. The Vice President for Undergraduate Studies was so pleased with the results that he wrote "It was an absolute joy to read the material after she had rewritten it. Imagine reading a catalogue devoid of the turgid prose of thirty-nine chairpersons. She gave the catalogue a clarity and style which it never possessed." My most recent editing was of policy and procedure manuals for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennesee sales representatives. In between, I have written and edited annual reports, brochures, proposals, forms, a book, training materials, on-line help, manuals for grocery store scanning software, and manuals for financial software.
