My first job was as a sub-editor with Butterworth's Legal Publishers, where I wrote synopses of reported legal decisions. After this I joined the Government Legal Service but continued to do some freelance editing work. I am also joint general editor of Butterworth's Health Service Law and Practice. In the GLS I had experience of drafting and advising on complex legal documents including subordinate legislation. After this I concentrated on private pensions documentation in the private sector. In private practice I also had experience of appearing in the higher courts of the UK and have a clear grasp of spoken and written English at a high level.
