I received my MFA in Creative Writing and Publish Arts from the University of Baltimore. For the past 2 years I have worked as a proposal editor in the Federal Government arena. I ensure that all proposals are formatted according to RFP requirements and are free of spelling and grammar errors. For three and a half years before that, I worked as an assistant editor at Words and Numbers, a company that produces educational materials such as text books, teacher's guides, and online courses. This gave me a lot of experience in writing and editor for a variety of age groups, especially grades 3 through 8. Although much of my experience at this company was in editing for elementary education, I have also worked on college text books. My last work at Words and Numbers was with a sociology text and a religion text. I have developed ghostwriting experience and have the ability to edit documents in a variety of topics, including those in which I am not a subject mater expert. I also have project management experience from this position so I am able to juggle deadlines and have developed necessary skills to communicate with other writers, editors, and clients. I am also a freelance editor for American Book Publisher. As an editor with this company, my responsibility is to do three rounds of editing and write back cover materials, always working with the author to develop their manuscript into the best possible book.
