I have been a editor/writer for 30 years with a varied career: I was executive editor of a top consumer magazine by the age of 23 and, later, executive editor of award-winning beauty industry trade magazines. In between those editorial positions, I worked for actor/activist Ed Asner for 18 years, writing his charitable and political speeches (including Congressional testimony) as well as treatments for TV sitcoms and movies. I have first-edited several non-fiction books on topics ranging from a Cary Grant biography to military adventures in Afghanistan to "Terri: The Truth," written by Terri Schiavo's husband, Mike. Since my move from Los Angeles to NE Wisconsin five years ago, I now work part-time in marketing and PR for a local award-winning artist. I also write feature articles for the beauty industry and work for online editing and transcription companies, editing everything from website copy to lengthy doctoral dissertations--often for ESL clients--in writing styles ranging from Chicago and AP to APA, MLA and more. My home office includes a Mac and two PCs (software is Mac OS X, Windows XP, Word, QuarkXpress, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Excel, USB transcription equipment, and so on). I have high-speed Internet and expert Internet skills, having been on the Internet since it was just black-and-white BSBs. My best qualities are accuracy, attention to detail, ability to "massage" a document for the best flow and readability, and quick turnaround. I enjoy the wide variety of subjects I edit and learn from each one. Thank you for considering me for your project.
