I am a semiretired research psychologist. During my career, I have published over 100 book chapters and articles in professional journals. For the past 13 years, I also have been the editor of a professional psychology journal, for which one of my various roles has been copyediting. I recently completed a rigorous copyediting test for a mid-major publishing house specializing in academic books and journals; they wrote to me that my performance was "very good".
