Writing is hard work. A writer uses words and graphics to communicate thoughts to a reader. But a writer working alone and without feedback from a reader cannot know if the communication is made. The editor’s job is to be that reader, a friend, and able assistant, whose goal is to partner with the writer in using words to communicate. That is why I call my editing service making words write. Putting words down is one thing. Writing is another. I work with writers to make sure their words write, that is, communicate their intentions. I have been editing for over twenty years in a variety of formats, including journalism, dissertations, personal memoirs, medical articles, and other various non-fiction works. Specialties: Medical. I have ten years experience as a Registered Nurse. I am skilled in medical terminology, formats, and APA style. Biological sciences and environment. I have taken many biology courses in college and after. I am an amateur naturalist with special interest in California native plants and birds. I am fluent with terminology, formats, and APA style. Buddhist and Taoist philosophy and healing arts. I am a 30-year student of these ancient texts and practices. I edited many articles for a Qigong master. Building trades. My husband and I had a homebuilding business for many years, and I am familiar with all aspects of the trades. Organic farming and gardening. I have been an organic gardener and sometime farmer for thirty years. I edited an organic farming newsletter for two years.
