I am an Assistant Professor of English for Academic Purposes at a small, 4-year college and a true stickler for correct grammar and style. I earned a Ph.D. in Education from Florida State University (2007) and an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Florida (1997). Teaching English in the United States and abroad has been my career and passion for over ten years. I am also active in publishing and presenting my work. I have experience editing term papers, essays, and dissertations, primarily in academic settings. Because of my linguistics background, I am particularly adept at working with texts produced by non-English speakers, but I have also worked a great deal with native speakers of English who simply want to improve their writing style and accuracy. I bring to each project an eye for detail and well-honed intuition for what reads well. In addition to teaching and editing, my hobbies include reading (fiction and non-fiction), learning languages, and traveling.
